Walk in shower install cost — Anchorage, AK

Medicare usually classifies walk-in showers as home improvements rather than medical equipment, so they rarely cover the costs in Anchorage. You should consult with your insurance representative to see if any specific accessibility riders apply to your policy. We are happy to provide a quote that you can submit for review.

For many Anchorage residents, a curbless shower design provides the safest entry and exit, especially for those with mobility concerns. Your choice should consider the available square footage of your bathroom and your aesthetic goals. A professional can help you decide between modular units or custom-tiled designs during your consultation.

The main disadvantage reported by Anchorage homeowners is the potential for a chillier shower experience without a full enclosure. You also lose the ability to take a bath, which some family members might prefer. Talk to a pro about steam-retaining glass options to see how they can improve your comfort.
